BIDV Insurance Corporation (BIC) has just advanced VND 45 million in compulsory civil liability insurance for motor vehicle owners for bodily injury following a multi-vehicle accident that resulted in a truck crashing into a residential house in Thanh Hoa.
Accordingly, at nearly 11:00 AM on September 23, 2026, a 7-seater car was traveling on National Highway 1 in the direction of Thanh Hoa - Hanoi. Upon reaching Nguyen Hue Street, Quang Trung Ward (Thanh Hoa), the car collided with a truck traveling in the same direction ahead.
The unexpected collision caused the truck to lose control, veer into the opposite lane, hit a motorcyclist, and subsequently crash into a roadside house. According to the People's Committee of Quang Trung Ward, the motorcyclist passed away, and the two car drivers were severely injured.
Immediately upon receiving information about the accident, it was determined that the owner of the 7-seater car is a customer covered by the compulsory civil liability insurance for motor vehicle owners at BIC. Consequently, BIC's staff promptly arrived at the scene and coordinated with the customer and related parties to collect information and documents regarding the accident.
Given the severe human loss in the accident, to demonstrate the insurance enterprise's responsibility to its customer and assist the vehicle owner with the financial resources to compensate the victim's family, the advance payment of civil liability compensation for bodily injury in the aforementioned accident was swiftly executed by BIC. This advance payment was made at the maximum rate of 30% of the insurance compensation limit stipulated in Decree 67/2023/ND-CP dated September 6, 2023, on compulsory civil liability insurance for motor vehicle owners, applicable in cases where it has not yet been determined whether the accident falls under the scope of compensation. Concurrently, related procedures are being urgently implemented to disburse the full insurance amount for the accident based on the records and conclusions of the police authority.
The unfortunate incident in Thanh Hoa once again affirms the practical and profoundly humane significance of compulsory civil liability insurance for motor vehicle owners.
